METALFOOD@ and IMPOFAD

Gathering information on producers and retailers of food additives on the Belgian market.

You are invited to participate in a voluntary survey. Before participating, it is important to read this form which describes the purpose and practicalities of the survey. 

It has been well established that heavy metals and other chemicals are present in food, but it is less understood how much of these impurities are present in food additives and how this can impact our health. In the MetalFood@ and Impofad projects, we quantify the occurrence of impurities in food additives that are largely present in food on the Belgian market. The other objectives are to assess the potential contribution of the ingestion of these impurities via food additives and to determine the risk to human health. By answering this questionnaire, you will help us to identify the producers and distributors of food additives used in Belgium, and thus enable us to match our analyses to the reality on the ground. We will use this information to provide us with the food additives available on the Belgian market. 

 

The survey is organized by Sciensano, acting as Data Controller of the processing.

(1) My participation to this survey is based on informed consent and I may withdraw my consent at any time, without stating a reason (without affecting the lawfulness of processing before its withdrawal).

(2) I understand that by participating in this survey, I will not receive any direct personal benefits. The information obtained from this survey may contribute to a better understanding the impact on health of the presence of food additives in the diet of Belgians.

(3) Any information I provide will be used only for the purposes of this study. Sciensano will only use this information I provide for general statistical purposes. Scientific publications may be created on the basis of the survey results, but my personal data, if provided, will never be passed on to third parties.

(4) The personal data (field of work) will be stored by Sciensano until 31/07/2026. I have the right to request Sciensano to access, rectify or erase my personal data, or a restriction of processing, as well as a copy. These rights and the right to withdraw my consent are guaranteed to me by the European General Data Protection Regulation of 27 April 2016 on the protection of privacy, with regard to the processing of personal data.
